The Newah Organization of America (NOA) is delighted to announce the successfulcompletion of its first group Kayeta Puja (Bratabandha) Ceremony on Sunday, July 25, 2010, in Finksburg, Maryland. Participants in the ceremony were: 16-year-old Amulya Shrestha from Baltimore, Maryland; 18-year-old Sushanta Shrestha from Leesburg, Virginia; and 17-year-old Shachittanadan Baidya from Boston, Massachusetts. The puja was performed by Newah priest Mr. Basav Rajopadhyaye.

eighth annual Nepal Sambat 1130 Celebrated

Newah Organization of America celebrated eighth annual Nepal Sambat 1130 on Saturday, November 14th. Ven. Vante Ananda and legendary singer Mr. Prakash Shrestha were this year’s special guests of honor. The special gathering was enjoyed by a cross-section of the Nepalese community residing in the Washington, DC and Baltimore metropolitan area.
