On Sunday, August 7, 2016, Newah Organization of America (NOA) successfully released a music video of first Nepali animated feature movie “The legend of Shankhadhar” at Arlington Central library, Virginia. The music video was released in Nepal, USA and UK in the same day. The movie was written and directed by UK resident Mr. Sanyukta Shrestha under the banner of Yantrakala.
Mr. Pushkar Prajapati, NOA secretary served as an emcee for the event. NOA Founding Member Mr. Hariman Shrestha briefly elaborated on Shankhadhar Sakhwa and Nepal Sambat. Another Founding member Mr. Shyam Lal Shrestha wished all the best for the music video release and thanked all the NOA EC members for hosting the event. Later, NOA founding member Mr. Hariman Shrestha and Mr. Shyam Lal Shrestha jointly released the music video.
After the release of music video, there was live interaction via Skype with Mr. Sanyukta Shrestha. The event was broadcasted live through NOA Facebook page. Mr. Shrestha explained about the process of finalization of the story and movie making and announced that the movie will be released during Nepal Sambat 1137.
At the end, President Mr. Ram Lal Shrestha expressed his opinion that the release of the movie “The Legend of Shankhadhar” will contribute in to the promotion of Nepal Sambat and will be enjoyed by both children and adults. Mr. Shrestha also thanked Dr. Roshan Lal Shrestha and Mr. Pushkar Prajapati for their coordination and support to release the music video of the movie.
