It is our great pleasure to cordially invite you, your friends and families to attend the Newah Organization of America’s upcoming 15th Annual Convention and General Meeting in the Washington, DC. Please mark your calendar for Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 28, 2016 for our traditional gathering of NOA members, friends, families, community members and well-wishers!. This year’s theme is “The Challenges on Reconstruction Heritage Sites”.
In this National Convention we are having a special invited keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Gautama Vajracharya, a Nepali Sanskritist and Newah scholar and expert in the iconography of the Indian Sub-Continent. Dr. Vajracharya is well known on scholarly circles with an interest in Nepalese Arts, Culture and Heritage. He is a visiting curator at the Rubin Museum of Art, New York. We will also have a panel of presentation by well-known Newah Scholars/Researchers.
There will be vibrant well-known cultural program by NOALC students, talented local and renowned artists along with Photo and Nepal Mandala Arts and Crafts Exhibition and a special program for kids. In addition, we will have a delicious traditional Newah Samay Bajee and Bhoye.
