We are proud to announce that the Newah Organization of America (NOA) is organizing a group Kayeta Puja(Bratabandha; it is a rite of passage where a boy becomes young adult by accepting the sixteen cultural traits; Sodash Sanskriti – daily, annual and other rituals. Then he becomes ‘Dweeja’ – twice born – culturally) ceremony in the Greater Baltimore/Washington, DC metropolitan area to be held on Sunday, July 25, 2010, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Greater Baltimore Temple, 2909 Bloom Road, Finksburg, Maryland 21048.
We’re having a traditional celebration, with program support from our own Newah priest Mr. Basav Rajopadhyaye. If you are interested in participating or helping with the event planning, please contact us as soon as you can.
This promises to be another great way to bring our local Newah community together here in the U.S.
NOA is the first organization that is organizing group Kayeta Puja (Bratabandha) ceremony in the US and we are very proud of this.
