Newah Organization of America (NOA) successfully premiered first Nepalbhasa animated feature movie “The Legend of Shankhadhar” at the Cinema Arts Theatre in Fairfax, Virginia on Sunday, December 11, 2016.
His Excellency Nepalese Ambassador Dr. Arjun Kumar Karki attended the event and watched the movie together. During the event, Dr. Karki delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of the Nepal Government and deep appreciation to the team who created a history by making a First Nepali Animated movie. He also praised the NOA for successful premier of the movie in the USA. NOA President Mr. Ram Lal Shrestha thanked all the attendees and expressed the importance of the movie and hope it will help to understand “Nepal Sambat” and “Shankhadhar Shakhwa” to the future generations. WNO President Mr. Season Shrestha, NPPA President Mrs. Saroj D. Prajapati, NASC President Mr. Dibya Ratna Hada, NRN Deputy Regional Coordinator of America Mr. Ram C. Kharel, Media Representatives and with more than 120 people attended the premiere show of the movie. NOA General Secretary Mr. Mahindra Pradhan served as an emcee during the event
NOA extended special appreciation to NOA Secretary Mr. Pushkar Prajapati and volunteers Dr. Roshan Lal Shrestha, project leads and their excellent planning & coordinating the premiere of the movie in the USA and to Mr. Anil Ranjit for his support to the photography & videography of the event and creating promotional videos.
NOA also extended sincere appreciation to Aero Nepal Travel and Airzone Travel for their sponsorship of this event, and Mr. Chris and his team of the Cinema Arts Theater to make the arrangements for the movie show.
NOA owes a big thanks to Mr. Sanyukta Shrestha, the director/writer/producer of the movie who believed and gave the responsibility to be the official distributor of the movie for the USA. NOA would like to congratulate Mr. Shrestha for making such a phenomenal historical movie. We hope that this movie bring worldwide attention to the National Era, “Nepal Sambat” and our National Hero, “Shankhadhar Shakhwa”.
